Twice a year the setting sun aligns with the east to west streets of the main street grid in Manhattan, creating an impressive view, known as Manhattanhenge. Manhattanhenge gets its name from the prehistoric monument Stonehenge in England, the tall stones which are aligned perfectly with the sun to signal the change of season.
Last May 29th was this year’s first Manhattanhenge occurrence, but it was too cloudy and everybody felt disappointed. If you missed it, don´t worry....next alignment will fall on July 12th.
There are always second chances in life...
