REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE RESTORE REPLENISH

"The ultimate test of man's conscience may be his willingness to

sacrifice something today for future generations whose words of

Gaylord Nelson, former governor of Wisconsin, founder of Earth Day

An ash cloud originated from a volcano beneath the Eyjafjallajokull glacier in southwest Iceland is still causing havoc in northern European airspace.

Here are some images from this unusual environmental event which should make us all think:

Hi, guys! You know this song for sure. It is sung at football clubs around the world, performed by supporters. This tradition began at Liverpool Football Club in the early 1960s and later spread to several other clubs. Watch this video, read the lyrics and the translation. The message inside is really beautiful.

When you walk through a storm
Keep your chin up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.

When you walk through a storm
Keep your chin up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet, silver song of a lark.

Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone.

Cuando camines a través de la tormenta,
Mantén la cabeza alta,
Y no temas por la oscuridad;

Hi, girls! This entry is especially for you. I suppose you all know Federico Moccia and his books, don't you? Have you read any of his books? If so, write a short comment here with your opinions. Remember these useful connectors:
(Personally) I think/believe/feel that...
In my view...
From my point of view...
In my opinion...
It is clear that...
As far as I'm concerned...
Undoubtedly...
To be honest...
It seems to me that...

Example: "From my point of view, Moccia´s books are realistic, romantic and entertaining"

Federico Moccia is an Italian writer who was born in Rome in 1963. He has written some books, but he is particulary famous for "Three metres above the sky" and "Sorry if I call you love"

Three metres above the sky
In Rome, teenagers want to fly " three meters above the sky ".
Girls study, speak about fashion and prepare themselves to find love.
Boys prefer speed, violence and risk. They live in different worlds but share the need of love, which will make them float and be supported,a love which will make them change.

Sorry If I call you love
Niki is a mature and responsible secondary student.

Alessandro is a thirty seven-year-old successful publicist. In spite they are different ages and generations, Niki and Alessandro will fall in love and will live a beautiful love story, against all conventions and social prejudices.

Today I´m going to release some videos. Although they´re in Italian, I´m sure you´ll like them.

It's been a tiring Friday today. What about relaxing with some short and easy jokes?
If you really want to learn a language then it's important to be able to understand the jokes told in that language.
Here you'll find a wide variety of jokes - read them and see if you understand them. If you like one, then try to learn it.

Teacher: Maria please point to America on the map.
Maria: This is it.
Teacher: Well done. Now class, who found America?
Class: Maria did.

"Am I the first man you have ever loved?" he said.
"Of course," she answered "Why do men always ask the same question?".

The man: "God, how long is a million years?"
God: "To me, it's about a minute."
The man: "God, how much is a million dollars?"
God: "To me it's a penny."
The man: "God, may I have a penny?"
God: "Wait a minute."

Why couldn't Cinderella be a good soccer player?
She lost her shoe, she ran away from the ball, and her coach was a pumpkin.

Teacher: Today, we're going to talk about the tenses. Now, if I say "I am beautiful," which tense is it?
Student: Obviously it is the past tense.

Listen to this beautiful song by Beyoncé and review the second conditional at the same time. ;)

A place to crash
I got you
No need to ask
I got you
Just get on the phone
I got you
Come and pick you up
If I have to

What's weird about it
Is we're right at the end
And mad about it
Just figured it out in my head
I'm proud to say
I got you

Go ahead and say goodbye
I'll be all right
Go ahead and make me cry
I'll be all right
And when you need a place
To run to
For better or worse
I got you

I got you
Yeah

In falling apart

There's a beautiful photograph at the top of my blog now. It´s a place on the coast of Cornualles.
They are the ruins of a castle which was once a world of legend and myth.

What is the name of this castle?
What century was it built in?
What king is related to this castle?
Who was this king's adviser?

Four questions for my cleverest students. Good luck!!

Congratulations, Rocio M, 3º ESOB!!!!!!
Tintagel Castle, XIII century, King Arthur and Merlin were the correct answers.
You´re right!
