Auld Lang Syne - "New Year's Eve"
I watched "New Year´s Eve" on TV last Sunday. A simple Christmas film, full of simple stories that makes you see how simple things are the most important ones in life.
I want to thank 2014 for the all the things it has given me, and also for those that gave me and asked me to give back later, Life sometimes just lends you things, as they are not meant to be yours.
My best wishes for the new year. Remember, 2015 is a blank book to write a new story :)

Forever Young - Alphaville
Getting old is not a question of time, it is not a question of years. You start getting older when you spend most of your time looking back instead of looking ahead or making arrangements. It is not relevant if you are twenty or seventy, it is only a question of attitude.

St Andrew´s Day
St Andrew has been recognized as the patron saint of Scotland since the ninth century. He is said to have died bound to an “X” shaped cross, so this shape is now reflected in the Scottish flag, known as the Saltire.
According to a legend, a monk called Regulus brought relics of St Andrew to Scotland where he was given land to build a church by a Pictish king. That place grew into the town of St Andrew's, where the cathedral became a place of religious pilgrimage.
St Andrew's Day is a bank holiday in Scotland, a calebration of Scottish culture with traditional Scottish food, music and dance. In Edinburgh, there is a week of celebrations, musical entertainment and traditional ceilidh dancing (couples dancing in circles or sets)
Food Donation Campaign
Lending some of your free time to help those in need is really rewarding.
I have been a volunteer to the food donation campaign 2014 by Banco de Alimentos, which urgently needed baby food and nappies. as well as beans, chickpeas, rice, pasta, oil, flour, milk, cereals, cocoa and sugar as usual. Thanks to people´s generosity, we have filled five huge containers with food and hope to be delivered to many families in Seville.
Feeling happy is sometimes very easy...and I feel happy tonight.

- It can be threats: Threats to kill or harm you or another person, including children; to kill or harm pets; threats to kill themselves.
- It can be financial: Control over money; not allowing money for personal items, food or transport.Unfortunately Violence against women continues to be a global pandemic.
"Everyone has a responsibility to prevent and end violence against women and girls, starting by challenging the culture of discrimination that allows it to continue."

One Direction: Night Changes Acoustic
Going out tonight, changes into something red
Her mother doesn't like that kind of dress
Everything she never had, she's showing off
Driving too fast, moon is breaking through her hair
She's having something that she won't forget
Having no regrets is all that she really wants

Sad songs
Researchers at the Free University of Berlin have recently discovered that listening to sad songs when feeling lonely or distressed improves our emotional wellbeing as well as make us feel at peace and consolated by it.
The study says that sad music stirs up a mixture of complex and ‘partially positive’ emotions like nostalgia, peacefulness, tenderness, transcendence and wonder... and that helps us.
Do you agree? Why/why not?
What´s the saddest song you´ve ever listened to?
Anyway, against all research, I still prefer Pitbull when I ' m feeling down ;)

Warriors
In response to a suggestion...and because I also love Imagine Dragons.
Thanks, S. L. (4th A Secondary)!!!!!!
Here we are don’t turn away, now
We are the Warriors that built this town.
Here we are don’t turn away, now
We are the Warriors that built this town from dust.
The time will come when you will have to rise
Above the best and prove yourself
But don’t weep for me, cause this will be the labor of my love.
Here we are don’t turn away, now
We are the Warriors that built this town.
We are the Warriors that built this town.
Here we are don’t turn away, now
We are the Warriors that built this town.
Thanks, S. L. (4th A Secondary)!!!!!!
WARRIORS
As a child you would wait,
And watch from far away,
But you always knew that you’d be the
One to work while they all play.
In youth, you'd lay awake at night and scheme
Of all the things that you would change,
But it was just a dream.
We are the Warriors that built this town.
Here we are don’t turn away, now
We are the Warriors that built this town from dust.
The time will come when you will have to rise
Above the best and prove yourself
Your spirit never dies
Farewell, I’ve gone to take my throne above But don’t weep for me, cause this will be the labor of my love.
Here we are don’t turn away, now
We are the Warriors that built this town.
Here we are don’t turn away, now
We are the Warriors that built this town.
From Dust
Here we are don’t turn away, now We are the Warriors that built this town.

We are the Warriors that built this town.
From Dust.

Rainy morning

"The rain in Spain is mainly in the plain", repeated Eliza Doolittle in the film "My Fair Lady", trying to break her Cockney accent with speech exercises.
Do you want to see the rain in Seville? Have a look. Seville, today 10th of October, 8 a.m.
Chaos, flooded roads and traffic jams everywhere. Two hours and a half to drive my daily fifteen-minute journey to work. However it was not better by bus...
By the way, let´s learn some idioms related to the rain.
- To rain cats and dogs: llover a cántaros.
- To rain on (somebody´s) parade : aguar la fiesta.
- (as) right as rain: fresco como una rosa
- When it rains, it pours / it never rains but it pours: las desgracias nunca vienen solas.
- To take a raincheck: dejarlo para otro momento.
Steve: I’ll take a raincheck. I have an exam next Monday.
- To save for a rainy day: ahorrar para los tiempos de vacas flacas.

My recovery
Spending some of your time with good friends is always comforting. No matter how hard the day has been, problems get smaller with an afternoon tea and some laughs.
